Hyde F.C.

Photobucket

Celebrations were in order at Ewen Fields as Hyde FC were crowned Champions of the Blue Square Bet North yesterday. The Tigers had a 4 -1 victory over Boston United with David Poole, Danny Broadbent, Scott Spencer and Shelton Payne on the scoresheet. Nearest rivals Guiseley went down to a 1-0 home defeat against Bishops Stortford which sealed the Championship for Hyde with 1 game still to play...

WELL DONE HYDE F.C.

Hyde will now compete on the National stage next season in the Blue Square Bet Premier League. Well done and good luck for next season.

Thanks for this Tom. I have been watching Hyde for about 45 years. I'm just glad we won the title at Hyde and all the home supporters could be there. I don't think I have coped with waiting until the last match of the season. Well done to all the team and management this season. A superb result.

At a cold wet Woodley Sports last July for the first pre season game few knew then what was to lie in wait over the forthcoming nine months. We have played the game in the right way and in the right manner. Scoring the most and conceding the fewest goals in the league says it all. All credit to Gary Lowe and also the man who started all the rebuilding off twelve months ago Ted Davies. The turn around is incredible and those there yesterday who ve been there through the bad times were left pinching themselves over the achievements over the last twelve months.

I really have to agree with the Ghost. At the start of the season we just didn't know what to expect. A new management team and a totally new playing squad (except for one player retained from the previous season). Many of whom hadn't played at that level before. But the quality of the football, the team spirit, the number of goals scored and of course the results have all been utterly remarkable. After the dross of the previous few seasons, this year it has been a real pleasure to watch Hyde play. Worthy champions having led the league for virtually all season.
