Hyde Name Origins.

The name "HYDE" is derived from the hide, a measure of land for taxation purposes, taken to be that area of land necessary to support a peasant family. In later times it was taken to be equivalent to 120 acres .

Day Trip Blackpool (2)

Colin's picture showing the ladies trip to Blackpool in the 1930s which we showed a week or two back seemed a popular one so I was pleased to see another one in our emails this week. This was taken on the same day as the last one... sometime in the 1930s
