Theatre Royal Onward saved the theatre from demolition and are still working to try and bring it back as a multi-use venue. The theatre is a superb Grade II listed building, the architecture is magnificent to look at. Reopening it would certainly breathe life back into Hyde Town Centre and go a long way to promote community cohesion. The private owner has carried out a lot of repair work to a high standard and whilst the owner does not know what future use the building will have, we hope he will share our vision of a multi-use venue as many other theatres have done successfully.
