To the right is Coco's hairdressers and what used to be Hursts Newsagents and to the left, just after the white van, is Silver Hill House. This used to be a Childrens day nursery and is now a house.
This was taken on January 5th 2010 and I remember the roads were near impassable.
Looking up towards the cemetery...
Hursts News Agents took me back a bit... I used to go out with there daughter, can't recall her name now.... Looking at these shots Nancy I'm not surprised at how bad the driving was... I never used to take much notice in the old land rover... it just seemed to keep going...slow but surly. I give it to my oldest son this year, and he loved the snow... he's been pulling his neighbours cars out for them.. ha! not bad for a 42 year old vehicle.
ReplyDeleteThe mention of Hurst Newsagents has link with the post about Gee Cross Post Office , in particular the Newsagents next door. That shop was run, after Jack Wright, by Jack Hurst the brother of the one that ran the shop in this post.
