I recently asked for any pictures of the Flowery Field area and was sent these two of the CO -OP..... The shop was on Furnace Street... but to be honest I'm not sure where... at a guess I'd have said across from the Flowery Field pub... but please correct me on this if you know different.

    The building was on the corner of Furnace Street and Astley Street and had five cottage attached on the Astley street side. Astley was roughly where the entrance to the Castrol works was.On the Tameside photo archive site, there are two photographs showing the demolition of the cottages.
