Whilst walking down Hyde today I noticed a "Superhero" walking down in front of me, so I decided to take a photo of him as it isn't every day you get to see one "live" in your town. Anyway, when I got home and downloaded the photo I noticed that there wasn't just the one Superhero - Superman had joined him ! Funny thing was I didn't see him whilst taking the shot as the bus passed just as I was taking it - either that or he was in invisible mode ...haha...enjoy!
Superman and friend.
I haven't been to Hyde in 4 years...........is that a tram on Market St?
ReplyDeletethese two get about saw them in norwich norfolk a couple of weeks ago barry
ReplyDeleteHi Gwyneth
ReplyDeleteNo trams in Hyde now.... and none planned for the future.. the bus is the 330 Stockport to Ashton...
When I saw this I was reminded of Hyde's very own Super Hero... I can't recall his full name right now, Ken was his first name.. but he was known as Rat-Man... his side kick was I think called Robin... their act was not for the squeamish and if I recall rightly included Rats, Cockroaches, and other thing to make your skin crawl. I know they worked the club circuits and appeared on TV more than once. If you can add to this please do so as I think they deserve a posting all to themselves.. if you know of them please let me know and any pictures would be great. I once saw Ken walking a Ring-tailed Lemur on Gt. Norbury Street near to The George pub.. I'm sure other must recall him.

ReplyDeleteKen was brought up on Lumn Road, he worked for Rent a Kill, he used to keep sewer rats for pets. I once saw his act at The Crown where he actually ate cockroaches.
