This is one of our Dave's favourite photos of Werneth Low, which he took in 1994. He calls it 'At the going down of the sun.......' he sent this in a while back to post as a favourite place photo.. but I thought then it would make a great start to a post I had planned for today..
The pictures below were sent in to us last December by Arthur Heywood who took these pictures whist touring the war grave sites of Belgium.. Dave tells me that before he goes he researches where the soldiers lived and takes a stone from there about's to place on the grave.... what a thoughtful thing to do.

ReplyDeleteThank you Tom for todays and fridays post - very moving. What an apt photo on todays post. My Grandad is buried in Belgium but not at one of the cemeteries shown, what a lovely thing that Arthur Haywood does taking a little bit of home to the graves.
