ReplyDeleteDerek Morley on the back row was a good friend of mine, and worked with me for a while on the Door at Lowry's.... Just by chance Derek's sister Gillian called round and was thrilled to see this... I have been able to print the picture out for her and she as asked me to pass her thanks on to Barry.. Alas Derek passed away a few years back now... but he is still well remembered around Newton and of course Hyde itself.

DeleteBarry in Oz, two of the lads in the footy photo live in Oz now, Davi Neale and Arthur Chesworth both have lived in Adelaide, South Australia for many years.
ReplyDeleteBarry again, I have just remembered, This team was actually a House team. We had four 'Houses' at FF, they were Ashton, Nightingale, Shakespeare and Livingstone. This was the Shakespeare team that won the shield that year.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous .... I recall Corinne, she came around to our house one day with her dad for her tea... I'm sure it was a curry.... she must have only been about 7 years old then. Send her mine and Jane's regards will you.
