We have all heard of the Tigers that can be seen playing around on Ewen Fields but..................
Gorillas in the Mist..... that's a new one for me.
These can be seen in the Hyde area, but due to them being very scarce around these parts and the fear they might fall foul to hunters their whereabouts is classified.... if you do know where they are please keep it to yourself.... unless you own the land they are on and you'd like to tell us about them.
Ha ha, where have you spotted these Tom?
ReplyDeleteThis was sent in the other week with a request not to mention where they are as they are in someone's garden. Don't want to go upsetting someone if suddenly sight seers turn up... ha! But is around Hyde..
ReplyDeleteLooks a bit like my next-door neighbour!
ReplyDeleteNANCY,PAUL,TOM,
ReplyDeleteDon't want to be critical, but the blog appears to have gone down hill a little over the last week or so.Can't someone please send something of real interest in about the town.
D.T.
Hello the D.T.
ReplyDeleteSorry you have not found the last weeks posting of interest, we can't please all the people all of the time. If there is anything you would like to see featured please get in touch by email, even if it is just to make suggestions.
Tom
That's a harsh comment Anonymous! I sent something of real interest on Holy Trinity, and Tom and Nancy did sterling work in putting everything I'd sent together for the post. Everyone will have their own areas of interest; I'm not very familiar with Godley or Newton but read posts on those places and learn a great deal on them. If you love all things Hyde, then everything that appears here has to be of interest.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous / D.T, could that be you on the left? Please do not knock this excellent site. Nancy, Tom, Paul and Dave do a superb job voluntarily, as do all the the contributors. If you cannot contribute anything of interest other than knocking 'Hydonian' don't bother.
ReplyDeleteRant over!
Din't mind the Holy Trinity stuff, but Gorillas.
ReplyDeleteDave Tollet
Hi Dave
ReplyDeleteSeems you struck a nerve with your first comment... I didn't take offence, and it was me who put the post together.. I was pleased to see comments coming to the blogs defence as I think that on the whole we get the balance right. I hope today's post dose not put you off come back for more and maybe commenting again...
I take the critisism as a compliment.
ReplyDeleteIt must mean we set high standards to begin with.
@ Dave Tollet - our blog is only as good as the material we receive.... and we think that's excellent !! If you have some interesting stuff to contribute please send it to us to share :)
Barry in Oz here, I could be wrong here, but I seem to recollect that Dave Tollett is a Newton Lad who went to FF secondary, am I correct ? If so I am sure that you have a lot of good stuff, memories, photo's etc of old Hyde that could contribute greatly, yet I have seen nothing from you so far. To put together a 'living document' such as this site relies heavily on contributions of info. The success of this site is the fact that the information changes almost on a weekly basis, sometimes daily, and that keeps people interested. In the time I have spent on this site I have yet to find anything worthy of complaint or denigration and it is most definitely the best Hyde website I have come across thanks to the efforts of our Admin staff, so Dave, instead of having a gripe about the content may I suggest you make an effort to contribute more and if you still feel that the standards are not up to your expectation then you always have the option to withdraw your patronage.
