Windy Harbour

Photobucket

Wonderful view looking down Werneth Low Road towards Windy Harbour.
I wish the cafe and restaurant were still there.  It used to be nice to stop off there when you were out for a walk over the Low.

  1. I used to walk over the low with my parents when I was a young kid in the early 70s. We always used to stop here for a drink and some sweets on a summers day. As a child I didn't appreciate the beautiful views surrounding me. I now go up there with my wife and 9 year old daughter and stand on the footprint of these buildings reminiscing. My daughter just plays around taking no real notice, and I wonder in years to come will things turn full circle again, and will she be the one stood in the places she now visits with us,but reminiscing with her own family

  2. What a great comment that is... and in answer I'm sure she will... I think one of the things we do as parents, grand parents is to make memories for our children and grandchildren.
The walks I took as a child installed in me a loves for my surroundings, a knowledge of the trees an wild flowers and of course a love for the creatures I was shown. These things have stayed with me all my life. I get great pleasure passing this love on to my grandchildren now, and I hope it stays with them throughout their life.
