Mottram Old Road

 Here is a postcard of Mottram Old Road, just below Werneth Low.
I wouldn't like to see kids playing in the middle of the road nowadays !!

    The wall on the left is still there. It was repointed when Alder Community High school was built.

    Going back to a very old post, if this wall is the one where the 'penny slot' was, just beyond Jackson's shop, do you think the building on the left nearest the camera is the hospital lodge? By the looks of it, this picture pre-dates the row of houses on the right hand side which are still there.
