Two more class pictures from St Mary's school with stood on the corner of Talbot Road and Bradley Green Road. I like to think Colin Critchlow for his continued support and for sharing his family pictures.
Barry in Oz here. No, St Mary's has been demolished and a couple of bungalows built on the site.
Looking at the 1925 one I believe Jack Cryer/Grey is in that photo. He didn't move far in life as he had the Newspaper shop directly across the road from the school and lived at the corner of Manor Rd and Talbot rd up until he died. The kids in that photo would have stayed at St Mary's right through to leaving school as there were no Secondary schools built at that stage until Floweryfeild opened later.
My Dad and his cousins attended this school in 1932 and Myself and my sister and brother also attended there.
