War Memorial
Cartwright Street, Newton

There are two lists of names inscribed on the plinth:
- a Memorial to the men of Victoria Street who fell in WW1.
- a Roll of Honour of the men of Victoria Street who served in WW1.

  1. Awww happy memories for me,seeing this.
    We used to call him the headless soldier when we were young on the account that his head was often knocked off by the youths of the day and the drunks after a heavt session.
    I'm glad to see he is intact again !
