It surprises me at times just what can be bought on E-bay, all 3 of these are on sale at the moment, all 3 are pages from magazines and as I've watched them before they will sell for a pound or two.
Pound or two?? It's the prices they charge for Hyde postcards that amazes me. I've even seen a really beautiful card of St John's, Godley, going for £2.99 and it's one of the tear-offs from the Willow Wood calendar! My huge collection must be worth a fortune.
Ha! Gerald... I've been daft enough once or twice... I once paid £4.99 for what I thought was a pamphlet on S.H.M.D. Tramways... it turned out to be a few pages from a book... I think the only useful information I gleamed was a date I used on a post. I'm sure it will not be the last bad buy I make..
I bought a lot from Paul when he'd done his Hyde book but that was a long time ago now. I have paid over the odds for cards that I've really liked of places that mean something to me. I once saw a postcard of Market Street offered at £25. Needless to say I didn't buy it!

Can see now why women aren't keen on blokes washing the pots...

ReplyDeleteDave B, funniest comment I've seen on here in a while... good humour always gets my vote.
ReplyDeleteOne has to wonder if people actually do pay those advertised prices - I suspect the majority make no sales.
