A few photographs of St George's school activities around 1953. Unfortunately none of the children or staff names are known. I'm sure someone out there will come up with some names, if so let us know.
Great pictures ,Paul. I would have been there when these were taken and I would have been nine in 1953. I remember weaving cane baskets like these and I think the girls would probably have been a year younger than me. I am not sure of any names at the moment.
I was there in 1953. I was eight when the Coronation took place, I was nine in the August. I remember receiving a Coronation mug and an orange! Yes I fondly remember basket weaving, didn't the cane have to be damp to make it more flexible? I don't recognise anyone in the pictures though. A great post.

Paul these are superb pictures... got to be among the nicest school pictures I've seen.
