Enjoyed this Tom, especially the photos of the old town boundary signs which, of course, are lost for ever now. I remember the one at Broomstair Bridge as you were coming home from Manchester - I always felt pride when I read it - Municipal Borough of Hyde. The bridge was also the county boundary and a little way apart from the Hyde sign was the one which said Cheshire. I know that for a lot of us Hyde will be forever in Cheshire.
