There were 2 mayors in 1912: William Pope, who served as mayor 1911-12, and Hinchcliffe Brooke, who served 1912-14.If the photograph was taken in November 1912 then presumably the mayor was Hinchcliffe Brooke, and as the picture of William Pope in The History of Hyde shows him to have a prominent moustache this appears to be the case.
