Joseph Adamsons

Here is a nice old photo showing one of Joseph Adamsons trucks.

I don't know anything about cars or vehicles so I can't date it- sorry.

Hopefully, Dave will be able to help us !

Joseph Adamsons was, at one time, known all over the world for their engineering skills and products. Boiler making was just one of their products.

  1. Isn't this handsome? I don't know a great deal about commercial vehicles either but, from its nose, it looks as though it may have been from the Rootes Group collection - Karrier, Hillman etc. The registration plate, ABU 278, would seem to pre-date 1963 when the formation was changed to include a single letter suffix, eg. ABC 123A, B, C etc with each passing year. The ABU denotes an Oldham registration.

Come on, vehicle enthusiasts, put me right!!

  7. surely the quality of the photo suggests its a vehicle in preservation rather than a working vehicle in its time
