The Godley Hall Inn.

The Dognappers are a small group of friends who take an annual long distance walk together, 4 days or so. They enjoy dognapping (planning the dognap and walking it). Essential planning tools include the Good Beer Guide as well as good maps. (Thanks to Carlscam.com for this information).

Interesting -- of course I would say that - for I like a pint myself.

Never used to go to this pub much, but the one time I did, I slammed the car door on my thumb on the way in, which dampened the evening somewhat!

I've lived here all my life and it is one of the very few pub that I haven't had a drink in... I feel ashamed to say that... I must put that right if it is still up and running.

I've had a drink in there, when we used to work at Walls in the holidays. I dare say that's against the elf and safety rules these days!!

Hi Keith
Thank you for your comment.. I do recall the Jester.. and remember the mosaic Jester on the wall.. I don't know if it is still there or not... the place turned into a Indian take away years ago. I'll ask around about that.
As for the clockmaker again I will see what turns us... I know the Shepley name and there's still a John Shepley street in Hyde...
Our email is available top right.. drop me some more info and I'll see what can be found out... maybe Nancy will know more..
All the best
Tom
