Stone Cottages Victoria Street

Photobucket

The street sign over the shop door says Sawyer Brow, which as the infamous past I told about earlier.

The shop as now gone, and Sawyer Brow is now a simple rough overgrown pathway to playing fields.

Victoria Street can be quite busy at peak times but during the day makes for a pleasent enough walk.

Great comparisons, Tom. I love walking up there.
I think we need a picture of the "headless" soldier on Victoria Street. Poor statue, they used to be forever finding his head in the long grass where some mindless yob had knocked it off. No respect at all for what was done for their country!

There are a number of interesting houses on Victoria Street, just up the road there is a wall plaque saying Strawberry Hill.. I've got the pictures ready to post for there... and the War Memorial at the top of Cartwright with the Soldier.. head intact ha!
