I bet this was a welcome resting place for walkers making their way up Joel Lane and onto the lofty heights of Werneth Low. I think it would have been quite a pub in days gone by.

As it looks today. The doorway is still the same as when it was the pub.

I seem to remember a pub called the Travellers Call; when did it close ?

Hi Manggas Man
Welcome to the blog... I hope we see your name popping up often. I don't know when the 'Travellers Call' shut... but I recently found out that my grandparents rent the property for a while and my cousin who is now in her 70s was a young girl and recalls it well...
There is a Shepard's Call on Hyde Lane that is still going...
