Old Adverts from the Theatre Royal intermission.

Here are some stills from a 35mm cinema reel of silent adverts that were used at the Theatre Royal Cinema.

I used to love the "Pearl and Dean" adverts section. :-)

My favourite was the Tameside Taxis advert.

Big thanks to Stephen for these advert stills. I used to look forward to Pearl & Dean, but more because you knew that when they'd finished the "big picture" would be starting! Who remembers the Kiora advert, and there was one for Moscrops Babyland - Stephen might have the still for that. I was never a fan of the pictures at the Theatre - the Ritz was definitely the place for me - although I vividly recall seeing Psycho at the TR, and was terrified to walk to the bus stop at the market to get the bus home to GX.
