Who remembers the neon sign on top of the mill?

The sun as completely set over Hyde Mill now, it seems strange driving past and it NOT being there. I'd like to thank Peter Parrott for stunning photograph.

I'll do a post in the future about the working life of the mill, when it was built and such like.

The Neon sign that you speak of,Tom , used to be able to be seen with the naked eye from Werneth Low!

Nancy:
I remember it very well from my childhood... I could look out of my bedroom window at night and see it. At that time I lived in the 'Square' on Cheetham Fold. It was a local landmark pulled down to make way for housing and now the houses are not being built until the housing market rises again. Looks like it will become a waste ground until then.

I saw Peter a week ago, he had some stunning pictures of a fox he had taken... he seemed fine.
