Hyde Gentleman's Club

Here is another great photo from Marjorie...

"This group are outside Hyde Gentlemen's Club.  Where was that? Mr Wilkinson (of the farm on the Low) is 2nd from right on the middle row."

I was born and bred in Bowling Green Street in the late 40s and 50s. How I remember when there was a big occasion at the club and the street was full of posh cars and we used to play tick round them. I also remember playing ball in the street and it going over the wall of the club and we used to climb over to retrieve it (that was during the day when the club was empty) but when it went over when the club was open we used to ring the bell and they used to let us through the club (albeit reluctantly). Happy memories.
