Hyde Name Origins.
The name "HYDE" is derived from the hide, a measure of land for taxation purposes, taken to be that area of land necessary to support a peasant family. In later times it was taken to be equivalent to 120 acres .

I've never noticed this before but at a glance this could almost be the Queen Adelaide and what used to be the florist shop in Gee Cross Village..

Cheers Nancy... I know the Apethorn and the Hallbotton Gate were similar but this is different.. apart from the pub it is the shops as well..
