Hyde Name Origins.

The name "HYDE" is derived from the hide, a measure of land for taxation purposes, taken to be that area of land necessary to support a peasant family. In later times it was taken to be equivalent to 120 acres .

Hyde Roads Cycle Club

Hyde Roads Cycle Club was as its name suggests a cycle club in Hyde!.
If any readers were  a member of this club and can give us any information on it or recognises anyone in the pictures please contact us so we can add to the photos.

This is a set of photos given to me by Neil Howarth , himself a keen cyclist).
