Hyde Name Origins.

The name "HYDE" is derived from the hide, a measure of land for taxation purposes, taken to be that area of land necessary to support a peasant family. In later times it was taken to be equivalent to 120 acres .

View From Mary Street

I enjoyed looking at each and everyone of these pictures, the view from Mary Street is excellent with the Steam Engine on show.

It's very easy to forget what it looked like when the scrapyard was there. Great view from the tracks.
