Hyde Name Origins.

The name "HYDE" is derived from the hide, a measure of land for taxation purposes, taken to be that area of land necessary to support a peasant family. In later times it was taken to be equivalent to 120 acres .

St George's School

This is a photo from 1952 (July of that year if the calendar at the back has been kept up-to-date) of part of the class of Yvonne Rowbottom (nee Bann).

Barry in Oz, wasn't Noel Senior the local Boxing champion in the 60s ?

Yes, I seem to remember he did do boxing when he was a bit older.
