Hyde Name Origins.

The name "HYDE" is derived from the hide, a measure of land for taxation purposes, taken to be that area of land necessary to support a peasant family. In later times it was taken to be equivalent to 120 acres .

Whit Walks in Newton

 Here are a couple of photos taken in the early 1960's.
They show the Whit walkers walking up Bennett Street in Newton.

Thats a Daimler DR450 Majestic Major - I used to have a saloon version of one of those!
