View across Baron Road Fields.

Photobucket

This shows the view looking down Baron Road Fields towards Hyde Chapel.
The factory in the foreground has now been demolished and the houses on Orchard Rise stand in it's place..It was originally named  "Nether Hey" Works according to the old maps of 1910.

Thanks to Jack and Doreen Morris for the great photo !

I remember that view well Nancy... that mill was a welcome site if you were walking back from Werneth Low and the Keg... I can't recall what the factory was built for... I know there was a cork works around Gee Cross I wonder if that had once been it.

I've always believed it to be a glove factory. I hope someone can shed some light on this for us!
