Postcards from Hyde

Here are four wonderful postcard shots lent to us by John Bloor.

Quite a few disappeared shops on them such as Prices the bakers, Harrops furniture shop, Greenwoods the mens outfitters,Crossleys, UCP Restaurant and Middletons. Also, two disappeared banks - William Glyns (now Royal Bank of Scotland) and the Midland Bank (HSBC).

The roads are so quiet !

Has anyone got the dates the photographs were taken?

Hi John. the dates are 1959 for the first and third photos and early 1960's for the second and fourth.
